Membership
The Farallones Marine Sanctuary Association was created in 1995 by concerned citizens who saw the need to help protect the wildlife and habitats of the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary. Offshore oil drilling, dredging and dumping in fragile habitats, and disturbance of marine wildlife threatens our local marine environment. Shifting priorities and a lack of adequate funding expose the Sanctuary to these threats. The future health of the Sanctuary now depends on reaching out and building a strong circle of supporters. Join us as we protect the ocean environment through monitoring and research, education, enriching outdoor adventures, and field studies

"Thank-you so much for all the good work you have all done. I hope this [donation] helps in some way, for you to know that a guy from Iowa is touched by all of your hard work. Thanks again."

In 1981, the federal government designated the Gulf of the Farallones as a National Marine Sanctuary because of its rich cultural and biological diversity. National leaders created it, now it's up to us to take care of it. The Farallones Marine Sanctuary Association is a unique organization that strives to create an unshakable alliance for the ocean.
