Maura Kelly

Marine Science Educator

Maura is a Marine Science Educator for the Greater Farallones Association. Her work centers on advancing equitable access to environmental education and fostering meaningful connections between coastal communities and the ocean.
Maura holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara, where her research explored biogeochemistry, clean energy transitions, and natural resource governance in California and Chile. Her professional experience spans state parks, higher education, and environmental nonprofits, including roles with California State Parks, UCSB Campus Sustainability, Santa Barbara City College, Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, and the Community Environmental Council.
Her approach to education is grounded in curiosity, culturally responsive curriculum, and stewardship. Outside of work, Maura enjoys trail running, scrapbooking, and finding a nice patch of grass for a book.
