Beyond the Golden Gate Symposium

January 19-20, 9:00am – 2:00pm PT

Join us for the three-day virtual Beyond the Golden Gate Research Symposium (BGGRS) with presentations by researchers studying the extraordinary marine life, cultural and maritime heritage, oceanography, and geology of the Gulf of the Farallones, central San Francisco Bay, Bodega Bay, Cordell Bank regions, and adjacent waters between Point Arena and Point Año Nuevo. Presentations will focus on new, ongoing, and recently completed research, monitoring, and habitat characterization projects. Presentations will be brief project summaries (8 minutes or less). We have scheduled open discussions so that participants have the opportunity to meet with presenters and network with colleagues, resource managers, and decision-makers.

Oral presentations 9:00 am to 10:30 am, followed by an open discussion of highlights 10:30am-11:30 am, and additional oral presentations 12:00pm – 1:30 pm

Co-sponsors: Greater Farallones Association, Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary, Coastal and Marine Sciences Institute at UC Davis, Estuary & Ocean Science Center, SF State University, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Point Blue Conservation Science, Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve
